I recently installed the remote control version of this light kit on my LEGO Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht (42174), and I’m stoked with how it turned out! As a very novice lego builder, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the installation process took me about 4 hours and was surprisingly manageable. (I missed lunch as was so engrossed in putting it together)

The kit is well made, instructions are ok via this website, though it can be a little finicky in places. One improvement I made was placing the long red light strips under the bow pieces instead of on top like the instructions suggested—it creates a much cleaner and more striking/dramatic effect, in my opinion.

Hiding the wires was also easier than expected. With a bit of care and planning, I was able to conceal everything neatly without interfering with any of the pneumatics or gears, which was a big plus.

The remote control feature works great and adds an awesome dynamic element to the display. It really brings the yacht to life and makes it a standout piece.
Highly recommend this kit for anyone looking to elevate their AC75 build—even if you're just starting out!
